Biography:


Although he began as draughtsman, Robert Seymour changed towards historical subjects and begins to exhibit. Influenced by George Cruiskshank, he began illustrating under the pen name of "Short Shanks". He was also a famous caricaturist. Editors asked him to illustrate Dickens' works but he committed suicide before his completed works appeared.
