Biography:

Pierre Elie Ferrier, also called Pef, was born on 20th May 1939 in Saint-Jean-des-Vigne. He got his start as jounalist for the magazine Virgule. After editing some CD for children with the singer Anne Sylvestre, he began writing children's books. With Alain Serres, he directed Pastagums TV series and published many works.
Pef is a keen writer and draughstman, and among all artists interested in children, he is the one who has better understood that, for an effective literacy campaign, we have to go beyond teaching.
