Biography:
Mary Grandpre is well known all throughout the world for being the illustrator of the American version of Harry Potter Books. But she has also been working in other projects and up to date, she has already illustrated 7 other children's books, has worked for the animated film Antz, drawing landscapes and general scenery, and has collabiorated in other genres like advertising, corporate art and editorial.
Her recognizable drawings are characterized for her love of pastels and "soft geometry".
J.K.Rowling, the author of Harry Potter Books, once said: "I have about 15 illustrators because in every country where Harry is published there is different artwork, and there will be still more. It is wonderful to see different representations of Harry from all these different cultures. The illustrator in the USA is one of my favourites, and she is called Mary Grandpre".
