French illustrator (1824-1889)

Biography:


Yann Dargent was born in Saint-Servais (Finisterre, France) in 1824. He lived in Bretagne, where he painted landscapes and every-day scenes. His illustrations for Granier Editors have been republished many times. He regularly collaborated with Magazine d'Education et Recreation, published by Hetzel. We owe him the etchings of Stahl's adaptation on The Swiss Robinson (originally written by Johan David Swiss).
