JEAN CLAVERIE


French author and illustrator (1946)

Biography:

Jean Claverie was born in Beaune, in 1946. He studied at the Fine Arts School of Lyon and at the Ecole d'Arts Decoratifs of Geneve. He has worked in advertisements but from 1977 on, he devoted himself to children's books. He has been awarded several times (Prix Graphique Loisirs Jeunes, 1981; Plaquette d'Or au B.I.B Bratislava, 1983; IBBY Liste d'Honneur, 1984).
