In short:


In the 19th century, Mr. Selby and his wife treat well their slaves. However, due to a series of misfortunes, they are forced to sell their most loyal slave, old uncle Tom, and a very young child, Henry. Then Tom meets Evangeline Saint-clare, a young and sensitive gilr who encourages her father to buy Tom. But shortly afterwards he is sold again.

Uncle Tom's Cabin is one of the most famous and read books, not only in United States but also worldwide. Its author xrote the book after the appearance, in 1850, of a legislative document in which it was stated that fugitive slaves should be denouced.
