More about The Last of the Mohicans:
The Last of the Mohicans is one of the five tales included in Leather Stocking Novels (1823-1841). Among them, the most well-known stories are The last of the Mohicans, The Prairie and Deerslayer.
Adaptations:
Due to the novel's great acceptation in America, many different movies were made, being 1936 and 1992 versions the most celebrated ones. The 1992 movie The Last of the Mohicans, directed by Michael Mann, was a real success, first for the gorgeous scenery permeating the film trhoughout and secondly, for the cast, specially Madeleine Stowe starring Cora and Daniel Day-Lewis' role as Hawkeye. Although it differs in many aspects from the book, this film is a terrific adaptation of James Cooper's novel.
