In short:

Heidi is an orphan girl who lives with her grandfather not far from a little village in the Alps. But she has to leave this bucolic and idilic life to go to Frankfurt, for her aunt wants to be in charge of her education. There she meets Clara, the girl on the wheelchair. Heidi, used to living free in the mountains, has to get used to this inhospitable town and to her strict tutor Mrs. Rotenmeir.
