In the 4th October 1931, the first Sunday pages with strip cartoons appear. The following week we already find its firstdaily strip: Dick Tracy was born and began a long career.
Chester Gould's drawing, very black and almost caricaturist, gives Dick Tracy an originality that allows the strip to survive the crises of daily press in the United States.
In 1977 Gould leaves his hero to his asistant Dick Fletcher, whereas the scenario is entrusted to Max Collins.
