LOIS LOWRY
American author (1937)
Biography:
Lois Lowry was born in Honolulu, Hawai, in 1937. She has writen over 20 novels for children and young readers and has been given the Newbery Medal twice. She is well-known for portraying real experiences and for tackling several serious topics in her books, like adoption, cancer, futuristic societies... Lois Lowry told Contemporary Authors that she measures her success as an author by her ability to "help adolescents answer their own questions about life, identity and human relationships".
