RANDALL JARRELL

Biography:
Randall Jarrell was born in Nashville, Tennessee. He studied at Vanderbilt University and later he became a teacher at Kenion College and University of Texas.
His first book of poems, Blood for a Stranger, was published in 1942, the same year he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. In 1945, Little Friend, Little Friend appeared, which turned him into a popular poet. The Woman at the Washington Zoo and The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner are two of his most famous poems. He has also written children's literature.
